When did you last review your website?
If it was more than 6 months ago you need to review these vital elements
- Use Google Page Insights to check your site is giving a good user experience in terms of speed and layout load etc. A poor score will reflect in your Google search rankings.
- Review your website copy. It should be customer-focused and discuss their problems and the benefits they can expect from working with you. NOT have every sentence starting with ‘We’
- Is it easy to find the information your customers are looking for?
- How obvious and easy is it to contact you? Are your phone numbers and email addresses clickable? We are all lazy soles who don’t like to spend more time copying and pasting numbers into our phones to be able to call companies.
- How to tell your customers they can trust you? Do you use Google reviews and testimonials, or are you associated with any organisations like Checkatrade?
- Is it obvious in a matter of seconds, what you do, if it isn’t change that.
- Do you have regular ‘Call to Actions’ telling your potential customers what they need to do next? It is not good enough to expect them to navigate around the site and then to your Contact Us page to get in touch. Have quick action buttons at multiple places on each page of your site and be obvious what will happen to your potential customers if they click that button or fill in your form, nobody likes surprises.
- Test all your links work, don’t worry you don’t need to physically check each one, there are online free tools to help you. If any are broken, fix them quickly. Google aren’t fans of broken links so this could affect your SEO if left.
These are just a few of the areas you should be checking regularly. If you would like to have a free website review – yes FREE, then send us a message or give us a call to book yours now and we can give you a list of areas for you to work on or get your web developer to do for you.
